Before talking about a career in big data analytics lets know what 'Big data' is in first place.
'Big Data' is a concept used to describe large volume of structured and unstructured data which is so large that it’s very difficult to process using traditional database and software techniques or tools. Big data has huge potential to help companies improve their operations and make decision making faster and more accurate.
Big data always doesn't mean volume in any case when used by vendors, it may refer to technology, which is used to process or handle this large amount of data and storage facilities. It is believed that big data to have originated from search engine companies who wanted to inquire very large distributed aggregations of loosely-structured data.
Big data might be peta bytes (1,024 tera bytes) or Exa bytes (1,024 peta bytes) of data consisting of billions of trillions of records of millions of people. All from different sources like web, sales, customer contact centre, social media, and mobile data and so on. The data is typically not structured and is often incomplete and inaccessible.
Reasons for growth in big data are:
  1. Constant growth of Social Networking websites, Smart phone applications and usage of internet
