User Interface Design:This skill is employed in designing websites, appliances, mobile communication devices and software applications. The goal is to achieve a user-centric design, that is, to make a user’s interaction pleasant, simple and as efficient as possible. Candidates holding Bachelor's degree or greater in digital or graphic design, human-computer interaction, interactive media or a related field can expect preference over the others. Proficiencies in visual design like Photoshop or OmniGraffle, wire-framing tools, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are essential for this job.
Electronic and Electrical Engineering: A degree in these fields gives access to domains such as aerospace, broadcasting, electrical/electronics engineering, IT consultancy, and systems analyst. Gaining entry into this field requires formal education that varies depending upon the country; the requirements may be foundation degree, HNC, HND or a Bachelor’s degree.
Marketing Campaign Management: This position requires an individual to unite cross-functional sales and marketing team in order to develop compelling and integrated marketing campaigns. It is a senior position offered in a firm that requires an individual to possess prior experience in marketing along with good leadership skills.
Statistical Analysis and Data Mining: With huge amounts of information generated today these skills are on high demand. Statistical analysts interpret data to design statistical models for researching problems or questions; data analysts study and transform data into information, information into insight and business decisions. Both positions require an equivalent of degree in statistics, however, graduates in mathematics, economics, computer science and information management are also sought after.
Algorithm Design:  Algorithm designing is developing methods to create mathematical processes for solving problems. A background of engineering, mathematics, or computer science along with strong C/C++ skills is required to enter this domain. Experience in VTK, ITK, 3D modeling and Matlab are preferred by recruiters.
Virtualization: Virtualization is creation of virtual version of things such as computer hardware platforms, operating systems. The IT industry is becoming highly competitive and this skill can bestow an individual that extra edge employers are looking for. Certification from industry vendors such as Citrix, Microsoft and VMware can be valuable.
C/C++: This programming skill needs no introduction and it continues to be a highly sought after skill. From designing algorithms to developing applications, C/C++ can ensure that a candidate stands out among job seekers. Although not a pre-requisite, mastering this skill requires science and mathematics background.
Web Architecture: A Web architect designs, develops and maintains the technical architecture of Web-based applications. Graduation in computer related fields is required for this position.  Experience in Web development tools such as Javascript, CSS and XML can be added benefits.
Java Development: Java developers need to build high-performance enterprise-grade applications. This position requires degree in computer science, engineering or a related subject. Knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies along with experience in developing web applications are helpful.
Network and Information Security: This skill is related to analyzing and plugging security breaches in computer networks. Employers for this skill prefer computer related degrees and industry certifications like Cisco or ISC2. Some employers may be willing to hire applicants who don't have a degree as long as they have the equivalent experience.
