How to use mySQL replace() to replace strings in multiple records?

try like below,

UPDATE tableName

SET StringColumn = REPLACE (StringColumn, 'SearchForThis', 'ReplaceWithThis')

WHERE SomeOtherColumn LIKE '%PATTERN%'
