Which Silicon Valley companies give the toughest interviews?

1. Databricks (hardest in terms of how much effort I had to put in)
2. Yahoo (mobile group)
3. Merced Systems (now this is NICE.  This was a company that wrote their entire product in Scheme.  It was really interesting and the engineers were really some of the best I have met)
4. Fortify Software (now HP)
5. Uber  (interesting & practical questions here. Technical part isn't that hard and most engineers seem to get an offer.  deciding to take way less cash for potential equity can be unpleasant.  Their HR basically has this rule to lowball everybody )
6. Dropbox (the most organized interview and nicest HR. Tech questions were not particularly hard but I really appreciated the experience. )
7. Amazon, Google, Zoosk, Intuit, Redfin  (all these companies tie for sort of forgettable easy interviews that asked the same things like how to sort stuff and dfs/bfs.  I was also asked fizzbuzz a few times in this group.  Redfin's guys all asked variations of the same question and when I broke it down to them they all pretty much had questions with essentially the SAME solution and it was not that interesting they were not pleased.  Did not get an offer at Redfin haha.  )
8. Salesforce (they do have a 2 hour coding question now, but the recruiter tells you what it is ahead of time.  the rest is easy.  People are really nice here. )
9. Microsoft (interviewed at a small subsidiary.  one guy just said he liked me and i was hired two minutes after he walked into the room)
