Dear Blogger users,
European Union law requires all websites to notify their European Union readers about cookies used on their websites. At the moment, If you access Blogger or a blogspot blog from a European Union country, you will see a notice asking you to agree with Google’s use of cookies. Today, we are launching an updated notice that better informs visitors about how Google uses cookies, including Google Analytics and AdSense cookies.
- Google will add an updated cookie notice to all blogs. This notice will be visible to all visitors.
- Google will notify bloggers about this notice that will appear in their blogs, by adding a message to their dashboard that will explain the cookie notice and the reason why it needs to be displayed. Here is what the message will say:
"“European Union laws require you to give European Union visitors information about cookies used on your blog. In many cases, these laws also require you to obtain consent.
As a courtesy, we have added a notice on your blog to explain Google's use of certain Blogger and Google cookies, including use of Google Analytics and AdSense cookies.
You are responsible for confirming this notice actually works for your blog, and that it displays. If you employ other cookies, for example by adding third party features, this notice may not work for you. Learn more about this notice and your responsibilities.”

If a publisher using Blogger also uses AdSense, do they need to create any additional notices? I just read the AdSense requirements and it suggests different language than the Blogger notice.
For publishers using AdSense in Blogger, the Blogger notice should be sufficient, unless the publisher has added other blog features that set cookies, including third-party analytics or advertising services.
For publishers using AdSense outside of Blogger, publishers should follow the information provided in the AdSense guidelines and provided on the website cookiechoices.org. The Blogger notice does not work outside of Blogger.
Why do I have to add the cookie notice if I am not an European Blogger
European Union cookie regulations apply to all sites that have visitors from the EU and/or if your blog is on an EU domain. These regulations apply even if you are a blogger in another country. To help meet these regulations, we’ve inserted a notice within each blog on Blogger to lets visitors know about Google's use of certain Blogger and Google cookies on their blog, including Google Analytics and AdSense cookies. To see how the notice would appear in your blog, you can replace the country specific code of your blog address (eg: .com or .au) for an EU domain (eg: .fr or .co.uk)
